Why a cleaning division.

The group already looked after commercial buildings: planned maintenance, reactive repairs, compliance, flooring through Commercial Floors London and surveying through Scan Surveys. Cleaning is the service building occupiers complain about most, and the one that usually sits as a line on someone else's contract. Giving it a division of its own, with its own name and its own site, run by the same group and the same people, is the way to do it properly.

How it is run.

Every building gets a written specification before a price. Every contract is set up with a regular, inducted team and a named supervisor whose job is to check the work and record what was found. The same discipline the group applies to a fire door inspection is applied to a washroom.

What that means in practice: no day rates hiding the hours, no drift from the standard that was agreed, and no surprise when the invoice arrives. When something is missed, it is recorded, corrected and reported, not explained away.
