Cleaning is bought by building type as often as by service. A coworking floor, a boutique, a dental practice, a school, a hotel kitchen and a warehouse are all commercial cleaning and none of them are done the same way.
Offices and workplaces
Corporate headquarters, multi-let floors, serviced offices and coworking spaces are all offices, and none of them are cleaned the same way. The contract is written for the building and the people in it.
Offices cleaningRetail and showrooms
A shop is cleaned before the first customer and after the last. Between those two points it has to look the way the brand intended it to, in every unit, every day.
Retail cleaningSchools and education
Schools are cleaned around children, on the academic calendar, by people who have been checked. The standard is set by the head, the bursar and the inspector, and it has to be evidenced.
Schools cleaningHealthcare and clinics
Clinical premises are cleaned to an infection-control plan, not a generic office specification. The products, the sequence and the records are set by the practice and followed exactly.
Healthcare cleaningHospitality
Hospitality closes late and opens early, and the cleaning has to happen in between. Front of house is cleaned for the guest, back of house for the inspector, and the kitchen for both.
Hospitality cleaningIndustrial and warehouse
Industrial units are cleaned by machine, on a route, around a shift pattern. The floor, the welfare areas and the washrooms are where the work is, and the office at the front is cleaned like any office.

The service is the same six things everywhere: routine cleaning, washrooms, deep cleans, handover cleans, windows and consumables. What changes is the clock the building runs on, the surfaces it is judged by, the rules its landlord or regulator imposes, and the records it has to keep. A specification that ignores those is a template, and templates are what most buildings are unhappy with when they change supplier.
